Fiber To The Home (FTTH)

Currently, the reach of fiber extends only to the street. Customers are now using applications and demanding services that require the capabilities of a Fiber to the Home (FTTH) system. TeraSpan's Vertical Inlaid Fiber technology provides the flexibility and cost savings to make FTTH a reality.

There are several advantages to the Vertical Inlaid Fiber system for FTTH. As it currently stands, FTTH systems suffer in design due to an inability to economically bring fiber from the street to the user. TeraSpan's VIF technology eliminates high installation costs because of its pre-fabricated cable assemblies and because of the inherent advantages to VIF over traditional means (such as trenching or pole).

By virtually eliminating splicing, termination and testing in the field, the VIF system simplifies the installation process. The use of the VIF micro-cabling system makes it possible to quickly and efficiently fit a neighborhood with Fiber to the Home. This allows the VIF system to be deployed with minimal disruption to sensitive residential areas. The cost-savings to installers with the VIF system make FTTH clearly viable.
