There are several ways to partner with TeraSpan:
1. Become a Licensee
2. Become an Agent
3. Become a Value Added Reseller (VAR)
Product Licensee Model
Under this model TeraSpan licenses the customer to use its proprietary technology in a certain geographic area. This model is suitable globally.
Outline
TeraSpan sells products and provides initial training to the Licensee.
The Licensee is responsible for the construction of any networks, including dealing with all access agreement issues. The Licensee takes all collection and construction risks for the network. Some licensees will build for others while some will build their own networks.
Agent Model
An agent network is used to sell to the Private/Enterprise Network segment in North America. Territories of the agents will be defined and could be exclusive given certain performance criteria.
Outline
TeraSpan will provide training and sales materials to the Agent, as well as marketing support such as trade shows and advertising. The Agent will be responsible for selling to all potential Private Network/Enterprise customers in an area, in addition to providing market intelligence and feedback to TeraSpan.
The Agent will sell networks in TeraSpan's name to Private Network clients like hospitals and municipalities in their territory.
TeraSpan will collect the purchase order from the end-customer, thus assuming the collection and construction risks, including any/all city access and permit approvals.
Value Added Reseller
Value Added Resellers (VARs) will be used to sell Private/Enterprise Networks in specific geographic regions. It is anticipated that the VAR will package a transmission network with equipment and services, and sell it as a package to their clients.
Outline
TeraSpan will provide sales materials. The VAR will be responsible for its own marketing campaigns including trade show attendance, etc.
TeraSpan will provide a price to the VAR for deploying a network. The VAR will take the collection risk while TeraSpan will take the construction risk, including dealing with the city approvals, etc.
