We are currently seeking a Procurement and Logistics Manager highly experienced in providing support in a product development and outsourced manufacturing environment. This is a new position for our company, and the selected candidate will be responsible for the optimization and efficient operation of the International and Domestic distribution of finished goods.
Responsibilities:
- Negotiate with distribution suppliers to obtain the best combination of price, quality, quantity, delivery and supplier responsiveness
- Define the distribution structure including personnel and system requirements to meet corporate objectives
- Establish key performance metrics and benchmarks; review and measure performance against operating plans, standards and report findings, recommend strategies, conduct ROI analysis and supply chain productivity analysis
- Formulate, recommend, and implement strategies to continually improve price
- Establish and maintain excellent internal and external communications and relationships
- Provide support in respect to Canada Customs and US Customs cross border transactions, including duty drawbacks and VAT taxes.
Warehousing/Shipping:
- Manage and/or establish third party warehouses in Canada and Internationally to ensure an integrated warehousing strategy for the company
- Ensure high quality movement of finished goods from the Company's production facilities to customers in Domestic and International markets
- Establish and maintaining appropriate commercial relationships with trucking, rail, ocean and air carriers including selection and price negotiation
People Management:
- Hire, coach, mentor, and counsel employees to improve their effectiveness
- Develop Company policies and procedures
- Continually increase labor efficiency and reduce costs of operations
Qualifications
- Related logistics designations such as CPM, PMC, CPP, CPPM, SPSM, CAP, CIPM, CISCM, PMP, or CAPM would be an asset
- Strong negotiation skills with an aptitude for understanding the relationship between total costs and pricing
- Strong organizational skills with proven experience in successfully managing projects
- Self-starter with proven ability in demonstrating initiative
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent computer and analytical skills. Experience using QuickBooks is preferred
- Excellent team-building, management and training skills
- Strong organizational skills with proven experience in successfully managing projects
